IFFCO Partners with Agricultural Development Trust

IFFCO, the Indian fertilizer manufacturer has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Maharashtra based Agricultural Development Trust (ADT) at KVK Baramati. The MOU between IFFCO India and the Agricultural Development Trust was signed during the foundation ceremony of the Centre of Excellence on Dairy.

What is the Agricultural and Development Trust (ADT)?

The Agricultural and Development Trust (ADT) was founded in the year 1971 in Baramati. The main aim behind establishing the ADT was to provide agricultural education to the rural population of Pune district and the surrounding areas. Under the able guidance of ADT, the the Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) and College of Agriculture and Allied Sciences have carried out admirable work in capacity building, empowerment of farmers, and human resource development in and around Pune.

The MoU

The foundation ceremony for the Centre of Excellence on Dairy was done in the presence of Ms. Carola Schouten, Deputy Prime Minister of Netherlands and Minister of Agriculture, Nature, and Food Quality. IFFCO Marketing Director Yogendra Kumar was also present during the ceremony.

US Awasthi, IFFCO MD, congratulated Yogendra Kumar on social medial. Here is what he wrote:

“Congratulations @iffcoyogendra Marketing Director, #IFFCO for establishing the strategic partnership project with Agriculture Development Trust at KVK Baramati. This will include training of farmers, conducting demonstration/trials of new crops and promoting services to farmers”.

One can hope that the IFFCO MD’s Blog will shed more light on the MoU. One of the key aspects of the MoU is that it would allow IFFCO to display its products to famers through the KVK centre, with KVK providing training to IFFCO staff and farmers.

The MoU stipulates that KVK will provide training to IFFCO farmers, growers, and IFFCO staff. This training would be provided through 6 batches, with one batch being trained every 2 months and the size of a single batch would be 40.
