And with the financial year 2018-19 having reached its end, IFFCO has achieved yet another major milestone.

As disclosed in letters penned by Dr. US Awasthi, key contact and CEO of IFFCO, to various stake-holders, in the financial year 2018-19 IFFCO manufacturing plants not only met the estimated production targets, but did so while consuming minimum energy. The brand has registered a gain of over Rs. 1000 crore from its sales in the year.
A total of 81.50 lakh metric tons of fertilizers, which constituted of 35.88 lakh metric tons of complex fertilizers and 45.60 lakh metric tons of urea, was produced by IFFCO manufacturing plants in the year past. Dr. Awasthi further notified that continuous up-gradations in technology have helped rationalize production costs. Besides, they have also made it possible for the organization to achieve maximum output while leaving a minimum environmental footprint, which has been around 5.33 Gcal/MT the year past.
He further praised the efforts put in by IFFCO’s production teams for the innovation that has helped it stay ahead of its curve, as well as the efforts of the marketing team, which resulted in the sale of over 115 lakh metric tons of fertilizers. IFFCO recorded a highest-ever sale of 32000 metric tons of specialty fertilizers and its innovative products like water-soluble fertilizers and Sagarika bio-fertilizer were also a big hit with the Indian farming community.
The path forward
In his letter, Dr. Awasthi further disclosed that moving on the organization wants to keep developing environment-friendly and innovative nutrition solutions for Indian farmers. To achieve this goal, IFFCO’s research and development labs have been working on developing fertilizers that are not only cost-effective, but would also suit different soil types, so that farmers can reap the best outcomes every time.
Nano fertilizer is one such innovative product from the brand which will soon be launched. It is a smart fertilizer that delivers nutrients based on the requirement of the plants.
